Blink 182 will tour with WEEZER and FALL OUT BOY. In some different dates will be PANIC AT THE DISCO, THE ALL AMERICAN REJECTS, TAKING BACK SUNDAY, ASHER ROTH and CHESTER FRENCH.

We can’t wait to get out on tour this summer. After a four year break, we’re ready to get out on the road and play what we have hope will be the most amazing tour of the season.

The lineup is awesome. We’ve got an ever-changing roster of bands, from the most estabilished and successful names in rock and roll, to the hottest up and coming artists on the scene.

For production, we’re putting together the most ambitious stage show of our career.  Working with Martin Phillips (stage designer for Daft Punk, Kanye West, Nine Inch Nails) you can expect the most ridiculous display of lights and images we can imagine.

And the best part is that we’re bringing all of this together for one of the lowest-priced tours of the summer.

We’ve worked very hard with the promoters to make possible something that has never been done by any major touring act.

Blink 182 are in the studio for recording new album, no news about when work will done, but Mark Hoppus is talking about a great album and a great tour.

If you’re an obsessive Blink-182 fan (like some of us around here are), then you probably check out Mark Hoppus’ blog on a daily basis.

And if you’re a Blink-182 fan who’s obsessed with all things viral and mysterious (like some of us here), well, then you probably lost your mind on Tuesday.

That’s when Hoppus posted a series of dots and dashes on his blog, Hi My Name Is Mark, setting off an online stampede that had fans pulling out their hair (and their pocket translators), you can see it here. Were the marks actually some form of MIDI notes? Did they contain hidden information about Blink’s much-anticipated new album? Was this some sort of throwback to Coldplay’s X&Y Baudot code thingamajig?

Just what was Hoppus trying to tell us?!?!

Well, as it turns out, he was mostly just messing with us. See, the dots and dashes were Morse code, and when fans plugged them into online translators, they got some form of the following message: “TREADTEINUNEEDTUNDERTANDRECDETLINKTAETII” Clever fans began picking the string of letters apart, and what they discovered had them slapping their foreheads.

Hoppus publishes on Wordpress, which converted some of his dots and/or dashes into characters and/or hyphens, therefore mucking the whole thing up a bit, but roughly translated, the message seemed to say, “To Read This, You Need To Understand Morse Code. Blink-182.”

Now, not only is that brilliant, it’s also hilarious. But, was Hoppus’s Morse Mystery all just an elaborate prank? To find out, we shot him an e-mail, saying we were confounded and slightly amazed by the whole thing. And he replied with the following:

“Awesome. It says something like, ‘To read this you need to understand Morse code. Blink-182.’ ”

So, there you have it, Blink obsessives. Straight from the man himself. Feel free to return to your normal lives. Or, you know, your semi-normal ones.

“We played music together and we decided we’re going to play music together again,” Travis Barker told the Grammy audience when Blink-182 reunited to present the Best Rock Album award Sunday night. For Blink, it was their first time onstage together since December 2004, two months before the band went on an indefinite hiatus. Now that the band has confirmed a new album is in the works, Rolling Stone is taking a look back at their history in a new photo gallery: Blink-182’s Rock Show.

Blink-182 formed in 1992 in Poway, California, but it wasn’t until 1998 that guitarist Tom DeLonge and bassist Mark Hoppus recruited Barker to play drums on the band’s best-selling album, 1999’s Enema of the State. The band stuck around for two more albums, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and Blink-182, before its big break. Hoppus and drummer Barker went on to form +44 while DeLonge started up Angels & Airwaves.

Following the 2008 jet crash that nearly took the life of Barker and DJ AM, Hoppus blogged that he was hopeful that a Blink reunion could happen after admitting that he and DeLonge were once again friends. “Hi. We’re blink-182. This past week there’ve been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us. To put it simply, We’re back,” the band said in a post-Grammy statement on their Website. “We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy.

“Summer 2009. Thanks and get ready… ” the band says to conclude the statement.
